We leave on tour this week! I can't believe it.
It's here! Our first official music video! I'm so excited to finally share this with everyone.
"Inventor" was recorded at McGill Studios back in December by Jon Kaspy. The always stellar band Daniel Rougeau, Søren Nissen, and Ian Wright made the song come to life with additional help on piano from Evelyne A. Cooper. Edited by the very patient James M Law. Franky Rousseau & Dominic Mekky, producer team extraordinare, added their particular brand of intangible magic to the track before it was mixed to perfection by Jon. Mastered by Richard Addison of TrilliumSound Mastering.
Then we gave the song to Matthew Bailey to create what you see here. This incredible, beautiful, stop motion video built one frame at a time with care.
I wrote "Inventor" after thinking about the creators and innovators who seemingly make something out of nothing. The relationship between art and science. Dreamers and realists. A crazy idea and then a realized plan.
We weren't flying, until we were. We weren't capturing sound and video, until we were. We weren't communicating across the world, until we were. At one point these were all impossible ideas until someone, or a team of someones made them into realities. I think that's kind of cool.
